Contracts Manager
M&S Water are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to manage our Affinity Water Contracts.
Experience in the water industry at a similar level is vital. Knowledge of Repair & Maintenance, Project Work/District Metering and Developer Services is preferred.
Overall purpose of job:
To manage, monitor and resource the element of works and staff under your control to maximise output and profit whilst minimising costs and ensuring compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and legislation.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage a team of supervisors, streetworks supervisors, compliance supervisors and enablers/surveyors.
- Developing good working relationships with the Project Team and all stakeholders.
- Day-to-day management of routine clean water works in a region.
- Increase productivity, without compromising on safety, and continuously drive efficiency
- Ensure all work under your control is delivered in line with Contractual agreements/specifications and agreed KPI’s.
- Drive streetworks performance and reduce avoidable streetworks charges
- Ensuring full compliance with current legislation and industry standards are followed.
- Lead/assist with investigations/HR matters relating to any works under your control.
- Assist with the management of issues relating to recruitment, training, competence and performance management.
- Assist, where, with all Customer issues and ensure these are handled in line with company/client policy/procedures.
- Responsible for the control of overtime, expenses, wages payments and holiday planning in line with company policy.
Candidate Requirements:
- A current EUSR Blue Water Card.
- A current EUSR SHEA Water qualification.
- A NRSWA (Supervisors) qualification.
- A NRSWA (Operatives) qualification (desirable).
- A current SMSTS qualification.
- Institute of Leadership and Management Level 5 or equivalent
- NEBOSH National Certificate (General or Construction) (desirable).

Supervisor
M&S Water Services (Utilities) Limited are currently recruiting for a Supervisor to join our Affinity Water M&R Contract.
We are looking for candidates to have experience in the water industry, knowledge of Repair & Maintenance, Project Work/Districts Metering and Developer Services is preferred. Candidate must have street works/TM knowledge and be customer focused.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring you and your teams work safely in accordance with the company’s Procedures and promote health & safety within the company.
- Ensuring direct reports complete required safety documents including site specific risk assessments, weekly/monthly van sheets, PUWER sheets and HAV’s sheets.
- Developing and coaching of Team Leaders and Assistants. Method of developing to include onsite and over the phone coaching.
- Progression monitoring of teams, documents, concerns/gone wells. Manage feedback and escalate if necessary.
- Supervise the delivery of all construction works.
- Lead and carry out investigations into accidents/incidents and carryout root cause analysis.
- Carry out onsite auditing on all aspects of works undertaken including water quality, cable avoidance, documentation, quality, safety and street works.
- Carry out CAT Downloads and provide regular feedback/coaching on the results of the download. Provide staff information on the importance of using cable avoidance tooling correctly.
- Conduct weekly Tool Box Talks and safety briefings. Keep records on nonattendance and ensure all operatives are followed up to ensure full contract wide briefing.
Candidate Requirements:
- A current EUSR Blue Water Card.
- A current EUSR SHEA Water qualification.
- A current EUSR Cable Avoidance qualification.
- A current EUSR Deep Excavation qualification.
- A current Confined Space qualification (desirable).
- A NRSWA (Supervisors) qualification.

- A current IOSH managing safely, SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
Salary negotiable depending on experience, plus standby and weekend working payments.

Street Works Enablers/Street Works Surveyors
M&S Water Services (Utilities) Limited are currently recruiting for a Street Works Enablers/Street Works Surveyors to join our Affinity Water M&R Contract.
We are looking for candidates to have experience in the water industry, knowledge on street works/TM and be customer focused.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out enabling/surveying tasks, ensuring feasibility of design and resolving issues raised during enablement/surveying.
- Carrying out pre site checks to ensure job is ready for construction.
- Carrying out joint site meeting with local highways authority, traffic management company, reinstatement contractor and other external stakeholders to agree plan of works.
- Uploading photos/information to works management system to allow planning to schedule works promptly.
- Supporting wider Supervision Team as required.
(Training will be provided on works management system)
Candidate Requirements:
- A current EUSR Blue Water Card.
- A current EUSR SHEA Water qualification.
- A NRSWA (Supervisors) qualification.
- A NRSWA (Operatives) qualification (desirable).
- A current IOSH managing safely, SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
Salary between £35,000 and £38,000

Compliance Supervisor
M&S Water Services (Utilities) Limited are currently recruiting for a Compliance Supervisor to join our Affinity Water M&R Contract.
Ideally the candidate would have experience in the water industry and knowledge on street works/TM however this is not vital.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring all operational works are carried out of safely, within compliance of M&S Water’s Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Monitor Operational Compliance via auditing works completed/in progress on contract specific works management system.
- Creating operational and compliance related processes where required.
- Monitoring and issuing weekly productivity figures for operational staff.
- Tracking and reporting on none productive time spent by operational staff.
Candidate Requirements:
- A current EUSR Blue Water Card (desirable).
- A current EUSR SHEA Water qualification (desirable).
- A NRSWA (Supervisors) qualification (desirable).
- A current IOSH managing safely, SSSTS or SMSTS qualification (desirable).
